Morocco Calf: A Whimsy in One Act

Synopsis

Radio play by James R. Gregson. Set in Portia’s house in Belmont, it begins with the Prince of Morocco making his fateful casket choice in blank verse. When he begins to quote lines from other plays, an outraged ‘shade of Shakespeare’ appears on the scene, speaking prose in an attempt to re-establish authorial control. But who is the real author of the play - Shakespeare or "the young jackanapse who has been so free with the scissors and the paste" and "doesn’t know how to cut the tangle he got himself into".
