Synopsis
Fiction film based on The Merchant of Venice in which the daughter of a pious Jew steals money from her father and elopes with her lover who has been borrowing from Shylock. Shylock’s pursuit of his daughter ends with a mental breakdown, a return to health, the rejection of his daughter and her death.
