Synopsis
Combined book and audio CD. The CD includes Laurence Olivier in HAMLET (1948), and Simon Russell Beale as Hamlet in John Caird’s 2000 production for the National Theatre. There are recordings from Ellen Terry, John Barrymore, Richard Burton and Emma Fielding. The illustrated text includes photographs from notable productions including scenes from Kenneth Branagh’s HAMLET (1996), Michael Almereyda’s HAMLET (2000) and Roger Rees in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 1985 production directed by Ron Daniels.
