Troilus and Cressida: War, War, Glorious War

Synopsis
Educational series. One in a twelve-part series of films made by the Ontario Educational Communications Authority (now TV Ontario). The aim was to relate ‘Shakespeare’s timeless ideas and understanding of human motivations to contemporary society’. The press information from NBC Educational Enterprises records that the film is handled ‘as a black comedy. Under its savage attack no value survives. Heroic war is exposed as lechery; integrity and honour degenerate into deception and treachery. The theme is supported throughout by ironic ballads’.
