Synopsis

Educational series. One in a twelve-part series of films made by the Ontario Educational Communications Authority (now TV Ontario). The aim was to relate ‘Shakespeare’s timeless ideas and understanding of human motivations to contemporary society’. The press information from NBC Educational Enterprises records that the ‘film examines the dynamics of the relationship between a politician and his electorate. It demonstrates that for a politician to be a successful popular leader he must be an actor, even at the cost of his own self-respect’ .
