Synopsis
Radio programme. Body fat and the social and health issues it raises are currently fashionable issues, but they are not new concepts. Falstaff’s fatness is celebrated in Shakespeare’s plays and in several operas. Diane Purkiss explores some of Shakespeare’s references to fat.
