- Synopsis
- Documentary. In the summer of 1968, at an invitation from Jean-Louis Barrault, Peter Brook worked for ten weeks with actors from France, Great Britain (chiefly RSC actors), America and Japan. This culminated in a performance at the Roundhouse, London, in a week of performance exercises and improvisations based on The Tempest. Extracts from the performances and comments from Brook explaining what they were trying to do, using the play as raw material to ask questions of and about the nature of theatre.
