Synopsis
Television serial, in six episodes, on the life and times of William Shakespeare. Writer John Mortimer based each episode around events in Shakespeare’s life to suggest how they influenced his writing. In Episode 1 Marlowe is the leading dramatist for the London stage. Shakespeare arrives from Stratford to challenge his supremacy.
