An introduction to the play’s theme or atmosphere, designed to reproduce the conditions of acting in Elizabethan times such as having the same actors play several roles, thus showing how the plays were originally written for a specific company of actors. Includes extracts from Act I scenes i, iii and vii; Act II i; Act III iii and iv; Act IV iii; Act V scenes i, v and vii.
