Digital UK was formed in 2005 to deal with the implementation of the digital switchover from 2008 to 2012. This report explains how the switchover happened, with a region by region breakdown explaining when the switchover took place and how many homes were converted. The planning phase is also explained, and there is an look at the technical and engineering work involved, as well as a look at some of the problems encountered.

The work of Digital UK in facilitating co-operation between the network operators and broadcasters is explained as is the outreach and communications campaign to viewers and communities. Throughout the switchover Digital TV monitored public opinion in various ways and the results of that research are also presented here. There is a detailed summary of the planning and implementation of the Switchover Help Scheme, which was aimed at older and disabled viewers.
