- Description
- This leaflet sets out an overview of the changes to the copyright exceptions for education and teaching coming into law in June 2014. The changes are being made to bring copyright law up to date and make it more readily applicable to the digital age. Exceptions relating specifically to educational establishments will allow greater use of materials in conjunction with educational licencing schemes. Another changes will permit copying for teaching purposes, so long as this is considered ‘fair and reasonable’. This will allow, for example, the display of webpages on interactive whiteboards, without teachers having to seek permission first.
