- This is Ofcom’s eighth International Communications Market Report, which examines take-up, availability, price and use of communications services across the world’s major countries.
The report compares the UK with 16 countries - France, Germany, Italy, the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Ireland, Poland, Brazil, Russia, India and China.
Compared to French, German, Italian, Spanish and US consumers, the report demonstrates that those in the UK can take advantage of consistently cheaper access to mobile phone, landline telephone and broadband deals. The report also reveals that people in the UK are spending significantly more online per head than any other country surveyed, at £1,175 in 2012 – up by 16% from £1,017 in 2011.
