- The BBFC, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012, presents its annual report, in which it highlights its concern to reflect public opinion on the depiction of sexual or sadistic violence, by intervening in such scenes where it deems necessary, while attempting to balance freedom of expression against public protection. The report also foregrounds the BBFC’s ongoing work toensure greater protection for children from harmful content both online and in videos exempt from classification under the Video Recordings Act.
