Description
NB Collection now handled by Bridgman Images.

The basis of the collection is the 16mm Kodachrome film shot by the late Ivo Peters. Filmed between 1959 and 1977, the footage provides a wide coverage of steam-powered railways in Britain. Covers steam-hauled express and freight trains and railways in dockyards, quarries and mines. There is also footage relating to the railways of Britain pre-World War II and modern footage featuring diesel traction. In addition there is a collection of films featuring various aspects of the British way of life during the 1930s and 1950s. Other footage covers the Caribbean, Cuba and Palestine in the pre World War II era, as well as film of ocean going liners pre- and post-World War II.
