CONTEMPORARY FILMS LTD

Description
Contemporary Films was established in 1951. The collection was initially politically-orientated, (much on Chinese and Soviet communism) but over the decades it has expanded to include many diverse subjects. It has material on China, USSR, Cuba, Nazi Germany and South Africa under Apartheid, as well as rare footage from India, and the social and political scene in Britain. The archive also covers 60s music and fashion, feminism, gender politics, and anti-nuclear campaigns. Footage is also offered from classic films like Jean Renoir’s La Regle du Jeu and Luis Bunuel’s collaboration with Salvador Dali, Un Chien Andalou.
