Description

Sunrise Radio launched on Monday 5th November 1989, to service West London’s Asian community. It was the UK’s first 24 hour Asian Radio Station and in fact the first independent 24 hour Asian Radio Station in the World. In 1993, Sunrise Radio fought off 48 other bids to take one of the eight frequencies put out to tender in the Greater London area. Sunrise London was launched on the 1st January 1994, transmitting on 1458 AM to Greater London & the Home Counties.

Radio station. Holds 42 days output to meet legal requirement. All commercials are archived. Maintains a large private collection of South Asian music.
