The Bodleian holds over 4000 manuscript collections relating to the Commonwealth and Africa including the papers of the Anti-Slavery Society, the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, the Anti-Apartheid Movement, Sir Roy Welensky and many people who served in the Colonial Service or as teachers, doctors, soldiers and engineers in the territories covered.
