MERIDIAN BROADCASTING LTD

Description: Meridian took over the ITV franchise of the South and South East of England from Television South in 1993. The franchise holder before Television South was Southern Television. The collection includes many of the regional programmes made by Television South between 1982 and 1992, and the news/magazine programmes back to 1970. In late 2004 ITV Meridian moved out of its Southampton premises to a new regional production centre at Whiteley, equipped with the latest digital technology.
