Video/Film: Video: 60,000 reels/cassettes. Typical television output - news inserts, current affairs, drama, light entertainment. Holdings increase by at least 10 hours a week.Documentary, news and current affairs, science and education, light entertainment and quiz shows.
Video components: Beta/Beta-SP, 1-inch Video.
Film: 9,000 cans. 60% colour film, 40% black and white film. Documentary, feature films, news and current affairs.
Film components: 16mm, 35mm, positive film, negative film, 2,000 A and B neg rolls.

Notes: Archive project in progress to computerise card catalogue; date of completion is estimated as 2005. All footage from August 1986 to the present day is catalogued on computer and archive material until 1969 is now accessible on computer.
Other information: Library holds news scripts on a temporary basis (few months). Most programme documentation is held by the relevant departments.
Conservation policy: All transmitted material kept. Sub-master material is periodically recycled.
