HASTINGS MUSEUM and art gallery

Description
The material has been acquired by donation over the last 20 years. It includes publicity films passed on by the tourism department and from the Borough Engineer, 1940s-1970s. There is some footage by Harry Furniss (1854-1925) and a collection of amateur film from St Nicholas children’s home, also the RAC rally 1956. The video collection includes an amateur survey of the town centre prior to development, a commissioned feature on Grey Owl and recorded talks by a local historian. Most of the film of the collection has now been deposited with the South East Film and Video Archive at the University of Brighton.
