HASTINGS MUSEUM and art gallery
- Description
- The material has been acquired by donation over the last 20 years. It includes publicity films passed on by the tourism department and from the Borough Engineer, 1940s-1970s. There is some footage by Harry Furniss (1854-1925) and a collection of amateur film from St Nicholas children’s home, also the RAC rally 1956. The video collection includes an amateur survey of the town centre prior to development, a commissioned feature on Grey Owl and recorded talks by a local historian. Most of the film of the collection has now been deposited with the South East Film and Video Archive at the University of Brighton.
