- The collection ranges from material from the first film experiments to documentaries of early 1960’s. A good percentage is non fiction, documentary and newsfilm of the 1910’s, 1920’s and 1930’s, mostly British and American with a small amount in colour. The archive also holds non fiction material shot in Birmingham and Yorkshire. The remainder comprises fiction films, feature films and shorts from the 1920’s and 1930’s, mainly British and American, with a small percentage of Italian and French. Advertising, amateur, science and education short films form part of the collection.
