Description
The Record Office was established in stages between 1930 and 1958 and acts as an archive for the records of the County Council and a place of deposit for records of other local authorities, societies, businesses, private persons etc. for the county. Film is occasionally received as part of these records.

Film: The archive holds 295 titles. There are five principal collections: 1) County Council planning films, c.1951-65. 2) Cambridge Accident Prevention Council national and local road safety films, c.1950-70. 3) County Council films of schools and educational films, 1934-70. 4) Pye-Unicam, Cambridge and King’s Lynn, works, equipment, visitors, etc., 1957-70. 5)Papworth Village Settlement, hospital, village and industries, 1918-81.
30% colour film, 70% black and white film. Amateur, documentary, news and current affairs.
Film components: 8mm, 16mm, 35mm, positive film, negative film.
