The Royal Shakespeare Company at 50

RSC at 50In a three-part series starting on Tuesday 5 April at 11:30 on BBC’s Radio 4, presenter Jim Naughtie explores how the Royal Shakespeare Company first came into being in 1961. Covering its landmark productions up to the upcoming production of Macbeth in April 2011 in the newly built state-of-the-art auditorium, the broadcasts will feature comments from all five of the artistic directors – Peter Hall, Trevor Nunn, Terry Hands, Adrian Noble and Michael Boyd; and luminaries such as Peter Brook, Cicely Berry, Judi Dench, Patrick Stewart and David Tennant.

All broadcasts will be recorded by the BUFVC’s off-air service and can be ordered online and supplied to members with an Educational Recording Agency (ERA) licence.
