30 years of Channel 4

With the the first edition of Countdown, presented by Richard Whitely on 2 November 1982, Channel 4 was born.

To celebrate its 30 years of activity, the University of Portsmouth is currently running a two-day conference at the BFI Southbank with speakers including Sir Jeremy Isaacs and Hanif Kureishi. For further details, visit:
