The sponsor of this year’s College Higher Education award is the Educational Recording Agency, and Chief Executive, Helen Nicholson, was present at the conference to hand over the award and certificate to winning filmmaker Sean Byrne.

A Portal Too Far was produced as part of a Foundation Degree in Interactive Media and Games Development and shows its two protagonists being sucked through a portal into a virtual gaming world.

Our judging panel praised the film for its humour and commented on its innovative and surprising blend of computer animation and live action elements.

We were overwhelmed by the quality of submissions this year, with entries from The Manchester College, Ayrshire College and Heart of Worcestershire College being nominated.

All other winners will be announced at the Learning on Screen awards at the BFI Southbank on Thursday 28 April 2016. Take a look at all the nominations or book your place now.
