Moving Image Gateway updates

The Jodi Mattes Trust promotes barrier-free access to cultural collections for disabled people. Museums, galleries, archives, libraries and heritage sites use technology ever more to serve their audiences. Wherever it is used, technology should widen access to information, collections and learning for disabled people. The Trust fosters engagement for the cultural equality of disabled people by celebrating sector best practice through the annual Jodi Awards; developing guidance for museums, libraries and archives; and challenging cultural organisations to do more for the cultural rights of disabled people.
RadioListings
RadioListings is an episode guide to the speech-based programmes broadcast by the BBC, compiled by enthusiast Paul Wells. There are details for some musical programmes, and some listings for other stations, but the main focus is on scripted speech. Currently there are details for over 33,000 programmes, from 1949 to the present day, though the bulk are from 1997 onwards when the BBC put its schedules online. The main index is by the programme name, but more limited searching is also possible by credits and date of broadcast. The database is updated weekly and revised daily. The majority of data is obtained via a feed from the BBC and this is supplemented by information from other sources.
Royal College of Art: Record of Student Work
A collection of images of work produced by students at the RCA from 1960 to 2002 in the fields of fine and applied art, design and communications. The majority of images are installation shots taken from final-year degree shows, representing the culmination of each student’s time at the RCA. The initial selection (August 2010) of over 5,000 images is drawn from the College’s collection of around 30,000 slides of student work. It features the work of hundreds of students across all departments, including animation, architecture & interiors, ceramics & glass, communication art & design, design products, fashion, metalwork & jewellery, industrial design, painting, photography, sculpture, stained glass, textiles, vehicle design and printmaking. Use of the images is restricted to non-commercial use and teaching.
Vintage Radio & TV
A quirky website maintained by an enthusiastic collector and restorer of vintage televisions, radios and phonographs. It includes photographs of items from his collection, with accompanying descriptions of varying lengths. The televisions are divided into post-war table and console sets, pre-war, and projection televisions. There is also a section on record changers that includes Quicktime videos of the equipment in action, together with photographs and notes on their history, development and maintenance.
