The accolades bestowed on the British documentaries of the 1930s have tended to overshadow the achievements of the films produced in the post-war era. Simon Brown and James Mansell look at two new publications that aim to improve our understanding of this still under-appreciated era.

TA2: ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ON THE AIR
Ideas derived from television and the cinema are informing new developments in internet technologies that are changing how we use the web to communicate and build relationships. TA2 (Together Anywhere, Together Anytime) is a new European research project that explores new avenues to facilitate electronic engagement.
