Channel 4 and British Film Culture Website
Published: 10 December 2010One of BUFVC’s current Arts and Humanities Research Council projects, together with the University of Portsmouth, is Channel 4 and British Film Culture. Over the next four years this will examine the channel’s role as a producer, distributor and exhibitor-broadcaster of film. Our contribution will be to create an online resource based on the innovative and detailed press packs developed by its head of press, Chris Griffin Beale.
The project website has just been launched giving more details about the aims and activities as well as interviews with the men and women who were instrumental in developing the channel’s film policy. Two are already available, with Jeremy Issacs, C4’s original Chief Executive, and David Rose, C4’s first Commissioning Editor for Fiction. You can also share your ‘FourThoughts’ via the project blog via Twitter.
