Screen Plays: The Theatre Plays on British Television Database now online

Screen Plays: The Theatre Plays on British Television Database documents British television productions of plays that were originally written for the theatre. Most of these productions were made especially for television, but a significant number were originally theatre productions (some of which were broadcast from the theatre and some transferred to the studio). It currently lists nearly 2,700 productions from 1930 (The Man with the Flower in His Mouth) to the present day and will continue to be updated on a regular basis.

This resource is one of the major outputs of the AHRC-funded research project Screen Plays: Theatre Plays on British Television, which was based at the University of Westminster from 2011 to 2015. The Principal Investigator on the project was John Wyver and the Research Fellow was Amanda Wrigley.

John and Amnda wrote an article at the start of the project that is now available at Viewfinder Online.
