It is with sadness that we mark the death of William John Allen, Former Director of the Departments of Teaching Media / Teaching Support and Media Services at the University of Southampton. He died in hospital on Tuesday 13 October.

John was a Board member of the BUFVC for many years.  A very talented filmmaker and manager, he mentored many fine filmmakers including Roger Lambert and Ashley Rowe (DoP).  He also produced some very successful content that was used by the NHS UK-wide.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday 11 November at 11.30 at St Francis Church, Pilgrims Close, Valley Park, SO53 4ST. It will be followed by short family service at 1pm at the Southampton Crematorium, Basset Green Rd, SO16 3NF, which is about 10 minutes drive away. Guest Refreshments etc will be at the Hilton Hotel Southampton, Bracken Place, SO16 3RB.
