LabourList
An independent progressive blog providing a platform for open debate about centre-left issues and the future of the Labour movement. The site includes videos and podcasts. Videos include Jeremy Corbyn’s acceptance speech as the new Leader of the Labour Party and footage from 1989 of Corbyn confronting Margaret Thatcher about homelessness in PMQ. Topics of podcasts includes the legacy of Ed Milliband, television debates, and the rise of the SNP.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum exists to collect, preserve and interpret the impact rock has made on popular culture. The evolving story of rock can be found on the blog and feature pages offering news, artist interviews, performance notes, and the latest event and exhibit happenings. The video series pages offer many streamed videos including Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney and Queen being inducted into the Hall of Fame and performances from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bruce Springsteen, Chuck Berry and many others. The Short Video pages offer interviews with a range of performers, reminiscences such as Ringo Starr talking about his first drum kit and an edition on ‘Hound Dog’ and the twelve bar blues. The Museum’s Library contains over 1400 videos and 5,600 audio titles which can be accessed via the the online catalogue.

Thinking Allowed
A BBC 4 radio discussion programme. First broadcast in 1998 it focuses on the latest social science research and is hosted by Laurie Taylor, who was formerly a Professor of Sociology at the University of York. All programmes are available as podcasts. The range of issues debated is impressive; recent editions have covered the cultural and historical meaning of the word ‘black’, lesbianism in Russia, commercial surrogacy in India, and Romanian economic migrants in Britain.

US National Library of Medicine Digital Collections
Digital Collections is the National Library of Medicine’s free online resource of biomedical books and videos. All the content in Digital Collections, unless otherwise indicated, is in the public domain. The 200+ films in Digital Collections come from NLM’s reel and videotape holdings of government and military-created productions. The source material was digitised to MPEG2 format. The films (the majority produced in the 1940s) may be searched by title, date range and persons involved in the production. The subject headings could be made more specific but a basic search finds words in the description. Topics include tropical medicine, dental health and military hygiene. The descriptions of the films are comprehensive giving full credits and a detailed description.
