Learning on Screen College HE award winner announced
Published: 4 March 2015The BUFVC announced the winner of the College Higher Education Student Production award, one of the new categories introduced for Learning on Screen 2015, at the Association of Colleges annual HE conference on Wednesday 4 March 2015.
Student Lexx Oliver from Bridgend College won the award for her film Parallel House, made as part of the college’s Foundation Degree in Creative Industries.
The BUFVC were overwhelmed by the quality of submissions for this new award, with entries from The Manchester College, Bridgend College and Heart of Worcestershire College being nominated.
Winning director Lexx Oliver commented: “I am thrilled to have won a Learning on Screen award. It will really open up opportunities for me as a filmmaker to say my work is now ‘award-winning’ and help me as I apply for future projects.”

The Learning on Screen awards have been expanded this year to include two dedicated awards for college productions, one of which was presented at the Association of Colleges HE conference. Learning on Screen has always seen outstanding student entries from colleges, and the BUFVC is pleased to now offer dedicated categories to give colleges more opportunity to showcase their student achievement.
