EUscreen Virtual Exhibitions shortlisted for FIAT/IFTA 2013 awards

EUscreen virtual exhibitions were shortlisted in the ‘Most Innovative Use of Archive’ category as part of  the prestigious FIAT/IFTA Archive Achievement Awards 2013.

These exhibitions, curated by archivists and academics, add new meaning to the rich and varied collection of over 40,000 items of unique television-related material on the EUscreen portal.

Showcasing historical events, political debates and everyday life in Europe in a narrative context, the inter-archival exhibitions suggest ways for users to engage with the European cultural heritage through the innovative use of a broad range of audiovisual material, ranging from video to audio, still image and text.

Public voting for the nominees of the FIAT/IFTA awards is open until August 12, 2013 and a winner will be announced on October 26th, during the 2013 FIAT/IFTA World Conference.
