Chrome Web Lab
A joint project between the Science Museum and Google Chrome, Web Lab consists of five interactive experiments, each designed to illustrate a particular aspect of Internet technology. The interactive nature of the exhibition – which ranges from Universal Orchestra (an eight piece robotic orchestra designed to show the collaborative potential of the Internet), to Sketchbots, in which a robotic arm sketches portraits of users in sand – aims to educate users about web technology while simultaneously illustrating, in a creative, stylish and stimulating way, its potential applications. The site features live, 24-hour streaming of the experiments as well as explanatory videos describing the technology behind each experiment.

Firefly Photofilms Podcasts
An online resource for photographers. The podcast section of their website features material collated from various organisations, consisting of videos and interviews with photographers and photojournalists, covering practical advice, funding, information about exhibitions, profiles, discussions and talks. This podcast featuring Geoff Dyer speaking at HOST gallery sees the writer discussing the origins his fascination with photography and talking about some of his favourite photographers.

History Today Podcasts
These podcasts reflect the magazine’s mission to present authoritative and serious history to a wide audience. The subject range covers new research and historiography as well as popular history, including such diverse items as Martin Evans speaking about the history of The Jewish population of French Algeria to a look at methods of torture used by the British army against its own soldiers during the First World War.

NRLA Archive
The National Review of Live Art (NRLA) Archive is a video archive containing performances from the NRLA festival from 1986 (the first year film records were kept) to its final year in 2010. Over the thirty years of its existence, the festival became a key event in the experimental arts world, covering dance and theatre as well as multi-media installations and sound and video art. The archive’s content reflects this diversity, covering not only the performances themselves but also discussions and interviews with participating artists. Given the challenging nature of some of the film, the site has a warning that it contains “material of a sexual and violent nature and deal openly with contentious issue” and users must be over the age of 18 to access the material. After registration the material is free to view.

Truthloader
This YouTube channel was launched by ITN to give prominence to the work of citizen journalists around the world and features footage from amateur eyewitnesses and seasoned campaigners alike. The material is curated by ITN journalists and edited together to form a daily presenter-led bulletin. Other content includes a weekly series called ‘Truthloader Investigates’, which takes a look at conspiracy theories and ‘The Hangout’, a weekly live debate show featuring citizen journalists. Events in Israel / Palestine, Syria, Egypt and Thailand are covered by the site, along with a lighter look at world events under the familiar ITN ‘And finally’ heading.
