ArchaeologyTV
Videos about archaeology by the Archaeological Institute of America. The site is hosted by YouTube and has streamed videos including a series of videos on the Rock Art of Arnhem Land in Australia.

The number of videos on the site is currently fairly small, numbering just over fifty as of July 2012.

Discover Anthropology
Part of the Royal Anthropological Institute’s website providing lists of various resources, including links to the RAI’s YouTube channel:

There is also a useful set of links to various radio broadcasts, podcasts and interviews on a variety of anthropological and ethnological subjects, including this assessment of the work of Claude Levi-Strauss on npr from 2009.

Learner’s TV
A vast site providing free downloadable video and audio lectures of entire courses from respected academic institutions from around the world including MIT, Stanford and Yale. The site is science-oriented but covers some of the Humanities too, ranging across the fields of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Medicine, Management and Accounting, Dentistry, Nursing, Psychology, History, Language courses, Literature, Law, Economics, Philosophy, Astronomy and Political Science. Most of the materials offered are licensed by the respective institutes under a Creative Commons licence. One of the more innovative aspects of Learner’s TV is the provision of animations for certain science subjects to help students visualise difficult or abstract concepts.

Medline Plus
American site providing a wealth of medical and health information from the world’s largest medical library, the National Library of Medicine, including a large selection of videos of surgical procedures showing footage of real operations filmed in hospitals and medical centres across the USA. These are accompanied by downloadable transcripts with surgeons’ notes and observations on the procedures. Other resources include a series of anatomy videos which show the anatomy of body parts and organ systems and use computer graphics and animation to show how they work and how they are affected by diseases.

MoMA Online Communities
The Museum of Modern Art’s online communities page provides links to online collections about art, including MoMA’s own YouTube page.

The above clip about Antony and the Johnsons’ MoMA sponsored collaboration ‘Swanlights’ at Radio City Music Hall is taken from MoMA’s collection of videos which are divided into subject areas, covering exhibitions, thematic looks at the museum’s collections, interviews with artists, previews, footage of happenings and special events and items about collaborations with artists from film and music.
