20 Years of BFI Film Classics

The British Film Institute launched its popular series of compact ‘BFI Classics’ guides devoted to seminal films twenty years ago.

The BFI Film Classics range is a series of expertly written and well illustrated books that honour landmark films of world cinema. The series includes a wide range of approaches and critical styles, reflecting the diverse ways we appreciate, analyse and enjoy great films.

To celebrate, 20th anniversary editions of eleven of the books are being re-released on 1 August with new introductions and specially-designed covers, with a new title added: Victor Perkins’ new guide to Jean Renoir’s La Regle du jeu (Rules of the Game).
