It has been announced that the YouView set-top boxes manufactured by Humax will go on sale later in July with a guide price of £299. This internet TV service will combine Freeview with pay-per-view. The service will include seven-day catch-up broadcasts from BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Five and will also allow users to record and pause live broadcasts.

A joint venture between the terrestrial broadcasters and Arqiva, BT  and TalkTalk it will initially offer over 100 channels, including HD. In addition to the subscription-free channels pay content will also be available. The boxes will offer 500GB of memory.
