Cinemetrics
This is a degree project developed by Frederic Brodbeck at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Netherlands. It aims to create a visual ‘finger print’ of a movie by representing through an animation such information as the editing structure, colour, speech or motion which are extracted, analysed and then re-presented. The brief sampler available online compares such diverse movie experiences as Kubrick’s version of The Shining and some unspecified porn films. The code used is available through the site.
