Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia: Fondazionecsc.tv
The web television channel of The Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Experimental Cinematography Centre) Foundation presents a wide range of digitised films which are free to view. Amongst the many highlights is a page devoted to restorations which presents digitised versions of films including the first British fiction film, Robert Paul’s ‘The Soldier’s Courtship’, which was discovered at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in 2011. Another channel is devoted to films from the Archivio Nationale Cinema d’Impresa, the National Archive for Industrial Film. As well as archival material the site also includes interviews with directors and industry figures. The labels for some of the tabs are in English but most of the site is available in Italian only.
Einstein Light
An interactive, multimedia website created by physicists at the University of New South Wales, which presents a series of animated guides to Einstein’s theory of special relativity. The guides take the form of six modules which proceed from a discussion of Galilean relativity and mechanics, through a look at Einstein’s theory itself, a consideration of time dilation and a look at the implications of the theory called ‘Beyond Relativity’. Each animation comes with detailed background notes, giving more complete explanations.
Holocaust Educational Trust
This is the website of an organisation which works with schools, colleges and communities across the UK to educate about the Holocaust and its contemporary relevance. The website features details of the trust’s outreach activities, conferences, and other events, as well as a blog and links to related sites. A series of Podcasts featuring interviews and lectures are freely available to download, or can be subscribed to via iTunes.
Psy-World
This educational site provides news and information on depression, anxiety and other psychiatric disorders for health professionals, scientists, students, patients and their families. It is particularly aimed at psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals. The site offers many resources from article and book reviews to diagnostic tools and treatment guidelines. The Psychiatry and Neurobiology Clip Library consists of a selection of brief (generally less than five minutes) videos taken from various sources, featuring basic psychiatric information which may be useful for teaching purposes.
ScreenCulture: Canadian Educational, Sponsored, and Industrial Film Archive
This website is a research hub for scholars, researchers, historians and archivists interested in Canadian-produced film titles in the genres of educational, sponsored, and industrial motion pictures. The database can be searched by producer, subject, title and date. There is a small selection of films available to view on the site itself.
