2013 UK Film Statistical Yearbook

The British Film Institute has published the 2013 Statistical Yearbook, compiled by its Research and Statistics Unit. Now in its 11th year, the publications aims to present a comprehensive picture of film in the UK and the performance of British films abroad during 2012.

Highlights include details of:

  • Box office champions (including Skyfall, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and The Woman in Black)
  • Total cinema admissions (172.5 million)
  • Awards won by British talent and films
  • Total number of films released theatrically (647)
  • Growth in the VoD market

The Yearbook also highlights the changing demographics of cinema audiences, challenges in the distribution sector and shifting patterns of film consumption.
