Seán Street, Emeritus Professor of Radio in the Media School at Bournemouth University, is currently writing a book, to be published next year by Routledge, with the working title, ‘The Memory of Sound: Preserving the Sonic Past’. As part of the research for the book, he is exploring how we remember radio programmes and moments from our personal history, and what these sound memories unlock in us in terms of wider and deeper recollection.
