British Museum launches video on-demand service

Today the British Museum launched its own TV channel, available to all BT Vision subscribers.

The channel will show a mixture of documentaries in both long and short forms produced by the British Museum on a wide range of subjects – topics include Journeys of Faith, Great Leaders, Stories of the World, Contemporary Artists and Shakespeare. There will also be a number of lectures and short films available linked to current exhibitions.

The new channel is a first for the Museum, it shares its video content through its own web site, a dedicated channel on You Tube and social media including Facebook and Twitter, but this is their first on demand TV channel. It is also the first time BT Vision has offered viewers this type of channel.
