Teach and Design Educational Video Successfully, Tuesday 12 June 2012
Focusing on what to teach and how to teach on video, this course will help participants consolidate skills in choosing appropriate teaching functions for video presentation and in designing pedagogically effective videos. Following the course participants will be able to:
- Understand video design principles
- Be able to design pedagogically effective videos.
- Appreciate when video is the most effective medium in teaching
Encoding Digital Video for Streaming and Network Delivery – Introduction, Wednesday 4 July 2012
An introduction to digitising moving images for online delivery, including guidance on solving issues encountered in the process. Attendees will gain an understanding of:
- Copyright status and educational exceptions
- Content – producing new or reusing existing
- Analogue and digital formats, telecine transfer
Encoding Digital Video for Streaming and Network Delivery – Advanced, Thursday 5 July 2012
This course offers greater technical insight into the challenges involved with digitising moving images for online delivery. Attendees will gain an understanding of:
- System software and file formats
- Storage and networking
- Server technology, backing up and archiving
