Backdoor Broadcasting Company
A mobile audio webcasting service that specialises in recording academic conferences, lectures, seminars, etc and re-broadcasting them online on demand. The web archive offers content from hundreds of academics, including such luminaries as philosopher Slavoj Zizek, Shakespeare scholar Richard Wilson, historian Sue Vice, musician and activist Billy Bragg and writer Tariq Ali. The recordings are available for streaming or download and can be searched by speaker’s name, date, event or keyword .

COFA Talks
Video recordings of regular talks given by outside speakers at COFA (The College of Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales) relating to the theory and practice of art and design. Streamed free online or downloadable as vodcasts.

Mybrainshark
Free subscription to Mybrainshark allows users to create online and mobile video presentations by uploading PowerPoints, documents, photos or video clips and then adding audio by phone, microphone or MP3. Presentations created can then be shared by linking via email or social media, embedded in websites or blogs, and viewed anytime, on-demand from desktop or mobile devices. Viewing details – who, what, when and where – can also be tracked. Examples of works made with the software, mainly on management topics, are featured on the site, and an enhanced version of the software is available for purchase. Short videos on the practicalities of using Mybrainshark have been produced by Russell Stannard of Teacher Training Videos – uploading PowerPoint and working with photos, videos and documents .

Understanding Horror
This academic resource aims to provide students and lecturers with material to support the teaching and learning of horror as a film genre. Resources include lectures, worksheets, revision tools and even a selection of the sound effects (thunder claps, spooky musical stings etc) associated with the genre, as well as a section dedicated to the Hammer production company which specialised in gothic thrillers from the 50s until the mid 1970s. Audio can be streamed or downloaded.

World Media Rights
A UK-based independent producer of historical documentaries for television that are broadcast on AETN and Discovery in the UK and USA, as well as other channels around the world. The website currently offers over 400 hours of programming for sale via download, allowing each programme to be downloaded three times for the price listed and retained permanently. The collection is particularly strong on titles relating to World War 2, but there are also series on extraordinary women, the science of crime, and natural disasters.
