Google Doodle honours Louis Daguerre

A Google Doodle has been created to honour Louis Daguerre (1787–1851), who devised the daguerreotype, the first successful form of permanent photography. Those interested in the development of early cinema may be interested in Virgilio Tosi’s groundbreaking book Cinema Before Cinema, and the accompanying DVD The Origins of Scientific Cinematography, both of which are published in English exclusively by the BUFVC.
