Truth, Lies and the Internet

Demos has just published a report, Truth, lies and the Internet: a report into young people’s digital fluency, which examines the ability of young people in Britain to critically evaluate information they come across on the Internet. It finds that the web is fundamental to their academic work, but they need to be taught how to better identify misinformation, selective half-truths and mistakes, and better navigate the murkier waters of argument and opinion.

The report, which is available to download as a free pdf, reviews current literature on the subject and presents a poll of over 500 teachers.
