The gallant Charlotte nearly completed the course, but her horse refused at the 27th fenceAt Becher’s Brook the second time round, the two leading horses fell and ‘Red Rum’ took the lead to romp home twenty-five lengths ahead of second placed ‘Churchtown Boy’. Tracking over fence 10 with ‘Boom Docker’ 1st and ‘Brown Admiral’ 2nd. Tracking as they come up to fence No 14. ‘Boom Docker’ over followed by the rest. MCU man with binoculars. MLS ‘Boom Docker’ over fence 15 - the Water Jump - pan with him. MS horses round corner. Tracking as horses come up to fence 17 ‘Boom Docker’ refuses. Horses over fence 17 with ‘Andy Pandy’ now in lead. Horses over fence 18. Tracking with horses up to fence 20. Horses over 20 with ‘Andy Pandy’ in lead, with ‘What A Buck’, ‘Hidden Value’, ‘Red Rum’ and ‘Nereo’ following. Over fence No 21. ‘Andy Pandy’ up to fence. Becher’s and jumps but falls as does ‘Nereo’. ‘Red Rum’ now in the lead. Tracking with horses to fence No 23 - jumped with Red Rum in the lead. As horse jumps fence 23 into Canal Turn one jockey falls and staggers around. Low angle under Valentine’s as horses go over, Red Rum in the lead. Tracking as rest go over Valentine’s. Woman with binoculars. MS ‘Barony Fort’ over fence 24 and into Canal Turn. Tracking with horses as they come up to fence 26 with Red Rum in the lead. Same jumped. MS ‘Churchtown Boy’ followed by ‘Pilgarlic’. MS Red Rum coming to finishing post. MS Red Rum past post. MLS crowds round Red Rum to enclosure. MCU Grand National Cup. MS Tommy Stack dismounting.
