Sir Malcolm Sargent was another of the distinguished gathering. Stars of stage and screen personalities included Leslie Caron, John Mills, Nigel Patrick, Yvonne Mitchell and Peter Ustinov. Sir Michael Redgrave presented one of the 1959 trophies to Eric Porter, for his performance in Rosmersholm, and Dame Peggy Ashcroft one to Flora Robson (star of The Aspern Paper).
