Description
Mike Dickin presents a documentary on the eve of the first anniversary of the Penlee lifeboat disaster, on the disaster and aftermath. The lifeboat Solomon Browne went from Mousehole in Cornwall to help a tanker, the Union Star in difficult conditions and the crews of both boats (16 men) were killed. Includes song, possibly The Ballad of Penlee. Interviews with Trinity House pilot Mike Sutherland; Edwin Madron, brother of crewman Stephen Madron; new lifeboat captain, Kenny Thomas; John Corrin(?) and Del Johnson, administrators looking for new crew.
