This section contains many archive broadcasts from 1924-1945 including: first ever Christmas broadcast by King George V; first broadcast by a monarch in 1924 from the British Empire exhibition; BBC programs on economics from 1933; launch of the Queen Mary; the Prince of Wales on the 1930s depression; marriage of Prince George, Duke of Kent; King George V silver jubilee; King George V last broadcast; declining health, death and funeral of the King; abdication of King Edward VIII; crowning of George VI; events throughout the Second World War including Princess Elizabeth on effects of war on families at home, and first Christmas message of the war.
